The 411 for Parents

What Does it Mean to Have an Individual Lease?

An individual lease means that each person is only responsible for their portion of the unit lease or bed space. If your roommate ends up not coming back for the spring semester, you’re not responsible for their payment. You are only responsible for your room.

On-site Professional Staff

Residents can come to the leasing office to fill out emergency maintenance requests for their apartment, pick up packages, or get assistance with any questions or concerns they may have from our on-site managers. Our maintenance team responds to service requests quickly and professionally, also providing 24-hour emergency maintenance so that your student’s comfort is not affected.

Roommate Match Making

If someone does not have a roommate in mind, we can find them one with our roommate matching process! Based on the roommate matching profile form each student completes, we will do our best to match your son or daughter with the best suited roommates.

What is a Courtesy Officer?

Coastal Village will provide a courtesy officer to assist the community and its residents. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact our on-site managers at any time.

When Is My Rent Due?

Rent is due based on your lease agreement. First month’s rent is due on or before your move in day. The other eleven rent installments will be due on the 1st of each month. There is a five (5) day grace period and rent is due no later than 5 PM on the 5th of each month. If rent is not paid, on the 6th day of each month a $50 late fee is added to your rent. If rent is not paid on the 10th by 5 PM, another late fee of $50 is added to your rent on the 11th.

How Do I Pay My Rent?

There are several ways that you can pay your rent. You can:

  • Pay with a personal check, money order, or cashier’s check.
  • Pay with a credit or debit card online through our online resident portal.
  • Pay with a check online through our online resident portal.

What If I Need to Break My Lease?

Coastal Village’s lease is a binding contract and cannot be broken. If you cannot live in Coastal Village after signing your lease, you will need to find someone to take over your lease, or sublease your unit. Please call the leasing office for information on subleasing.

We want your student to succeed in their personal and professional lives. We hope they will find their time at Coastal Village to be very rewarding!
